Postgraduate apprenticeship

Aaa 21

Postgraduate Teaching Apprenticeship programmes are a nationally-recognised, work-based route into teaching. It offers a postgraduate-level qualification, no tuition fees, and the opportunity to earn while you learn.  In addition to working towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) on successful completion of the course, apprentices will also complete an end point assessment (EPA) to consolidate learning from initial teacher training.

  • Postgraduate Teaching Apprenticeships are available for prospective primary and secondary school teachers.
  • You’ll be employed by a school while you learn on the job. In some cases, this may be a school you’re already working at, or have an existing relationship with.
  • If you’re currently working as an unqualified teacher or teaching assistant, it offers new opportunities for career progression, plus higher earning capacity, recognition, and status.
  • You’ll receive a combination of classroom teaching and and training as you to work towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Our apprenticeship can include a PGCE and master's level credits. Note there is an additional cost required for completion of the PGCE.
  • This is a post-graduate programme. You must be a graduate with an honours degree, with a 1st, 2:1 or 2:2, though in exceptional circumstances we are willing to consider applicants who have a Third who can demonstrate a real aptitude for teaching, dependent on the phase or subject/specialism for which you are applying.
