Astra SCITT is committed to developing, maintaining and supporting a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion across all aspects of the partnership. Our aim is to embed diversity, equity and inclusion across Astra we do by working together collaboratively and proactively. Astra recognises that diversity enriches our communities and is celebrated in our schools and training programmes.
At the heart of the Astra Star Curriculum is a commitment to Inclusive Professionalism which seeks equitable outcomes for all, tackling disadvantage and helping trainees to understand the challenges of working in an area such as Buckinghamshire. This includes understanding local issues around educational disadvantage.
We seek to promote a diverse and inclusive workforce. We aim to create a safe space for all trainee teachers and strive to educate ourselves to improve awareness of the nine protected characteristics as laid out in the Equalities Act (2010). We encourage applications from under-represented groups and will make all reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process to address the barriers faced.
